What would it take to reduce the green house gas emissions of a gallon of standard diesel fuel by more than 50%? Replace it with a gallon of green diesel fuel created by the Ecofining™ process developed by Honeywell's UOP. Our technology creates a cleaner burning drop in replacement diesel fuel that can be used alone or in combination with petro diesel. Green diesel is made out of vegetable oils and greases and even other bio feed stock materials like algae that don't compete with food resources like corn. GALP Energy, Portugal's largest refinery, is one of the first refineries to license the revolutionary Ecofining™ process and is preparing to turn 6500 barrels of vegetable oil a day into high-performance diesel for the European market.
