Refineries and petro chemical companies cannot keep up with today's capacity demands using yesterday's technology. Many are turning to Honeywell's refining technologies and process controls to reconfigure their facilities for greater process efficiencies and yields while reducing CO2 emissions. These efficiencies result in cost savings. For example UOP improvements at Qi Shu Oil in Japan are estimated at 1.6 million dollars per year and substantially more value is expected from avoiding unscheduled outages in while at the same time operating at increased capacity. In fact 31 out of 36 core refining processes in use today were developed by Honeywell's UOP which continually advances the technologies behind those advances for a more energy efficient world.
